Just match up the channel your controller is transmitting and the respective parts in Xpand!2 should respond. +1 Glad to hear you have sound! Crank it up to 11+ The Xpand!2 is 4 part multi-timbral, as you can see each part has it's MIDI channel number 1-4 (default is 1, layering all 4 parts). At least, I'm glad to know that I can get sound. Shouldn't I be able to select omni (or none) in the input and be able to control it with the Korg? This is how I use all my other VST's with no problem. I want to use a Korg Triton for the controller.

Try playing Xpand!2 with the virtual keyboard. Make sure no other track has "Solo" enabled. Make sure the track is selected and has MIDI echo enabled. go to Sonar Views > Virtual Controller/Keyboard. set MIDI/Instrument track output to Xpand!2 ch 1. set the MIDI/Instrument track input to Virtual Controller MIDI ch1. Unfortunately, this instrument has no virtual keyboard on it's interface. Lynn abacab What are you triggering the VST with? A MIDI file, a keyboard controller, or the Sonar virtual keyboard? Let's test the audio output from the VST. I would expect some error message, though. I'm thinking if you don't extract first, then the installer cannot access the content. You should have extracted them to a new folder Xpand!2_2.2.7_Setup, then run the Xpand!2_2.2.7_Setup.exe file from there.

Those 3 files you described are downloaded in a zip file archive Xpand!2_2.2.7_Setup.zip.

When I click on Factor圜ontent, it asks me to install, which I do, but nothing happens. The first and third files seem to contain nothing. All files reside in my VST folder with my other synths. My question: three files came with my download, 1. My setup looks just like yours except my audio output is going to my master bus. Clicking on the patch name field at the bottom of the GUI brings up the patch list. Either way, playing on my P6 produces the desired sound. The Input field on the MIDI track shows All Inputs MIDI as a source (my Nektar P6 included) after I did an edit (following the screen capture). Gullfoss is seriously amazing by the way, I strongly recommend anyone who hasn't heard of it to look it up.Lynn TheMaartian Here's my test setup. So I suppose the lesson here is to make sure you've downloaded the newest update. Looking to make sure I'm updated to the latest version.ĮDIT 2: Good news! After I updated ACID, I found Gullfoss is working. But obviously it needs to work with plugins.ĮDIT: I've been running ACID 8 v119, the version that was on the DVD I bought. I am a bit worried however, I like ACID and it's the only DAW I know well, so I want to keep using it.

I tried pointing Reaper to the install folder from the VST settings page but still nothing. I can get Xpand to work in Pro Tools no problem but, I cant get Reaper to acknowledge its existence. As it's at an early stage perhaps compatibility will be improved over time. I only seem to be able to download/install Xpand as part of Pro Tools. I've emailed Soundtheory, the studio behind Gullfoss, about that. Building up my setup, here's what I've found:Īlso I've just bought Gullfoss the intelligent EQ plugin (check it out if you haven't heard of it, it's still in "pre release" phase at the moment it seems, and it has a reduced price.) But unfortunately it's gone to the "failed" plugins folder in ACID. Hi guys, I recently returned to music making and I was happy to see ACID has been revitalised, so I bought ACID pro 8.
